Jerome’s designer, Heather Hele, was recently featured on the CBS morning news sharing some tips for a budget friendly room makeover.  Try them out and you’ll be able to convince your friends you hired a fancy decorator and possibly won the lottery!  You’ll have your home looking like a million bucks in no time!

1. It doesn’t take a lot to make a big impact.  Artwork and accessories can give a room a whole new look and feel while helping to tie in different elements of your decor.  Just a few key pieces can make a house feel like a home.

2. Multifunctional furniture is a great choice for many active households.  Ottomans provide extra seating for guests, a place to rest your feet while relaxing, and many of today’s contemporary ottomans double as cocktail tables.  A table with drop down leaves can be used as a sofa table to display family pictures or candles.  When the kids need room for board games or a place to do homework, simply flip up the leaves and you’ll have the extra space you need!

3. If you have dark furniture use bright accents to lighten up the room.  A light colored area rug will add contrast.  Toss pillows in fresh, bright colors will give an airy feel.  A colorful throw blanket will add soft layering to your room.
